Physicals and Periodic Health Visits

The Ontario Ministry of Health has replaced "yearly physicals" and/or "annual physicals" with “Periodic Health Exams”.   To implement this new program we have created a new process for your convenience:-

1. In the month of your birthday please arrange to see the team nurse practictioner first. He/she will take a thorough history, update your electronic medical record and order the necessary annual tests - such as mammograms, bone density, blood tests, PSA, etc., all based on your history, gender, age, and life circumstances.
2. After completing the tests, you will see your Family Doctor who will perform an examination (including Pap test where appropriate), review the test results and provide advice and a follow-up appointment schedule.

You will be seen periodically throughout the year as needed for followups and re-evaluation.
